I'm Sapphira, the founder of World Burlesque Academy.

My mission is to help people live boldly through the transformational art of burlesque.

After experiencing a breakdown 25 years ago, I began a healing journey that evolved into a global movement. As founder of World Burlesque Day and World Burlesque Academy, we now unite 1,500 members across 30 countries — culminating each September at the Ibiza Burlesque Festival, where our international community gathers to perform, connect and celebrate in Spain.

Originally trained in journalism, I developed a deep passion for storytelling. In our programmes, you don’t simply learn burlesque — you uncover your story and learn how to express it through movement, music and performance.

For artists ready to step into visibility, I mentor you to craft your brand and narrative, building the courage and strategy to enter media and press so your story can inspire others.

With a CAE group fitness certification underpinning our teaching method, our courses are dynamic, safe and expertly structured. I am also recognised as a Social Prescribing Champion, advocating burlesque as a powerful pathway to mental wellbeing and self-esteem.
