Note our Community Care & Standards

The World Burlesque Academy, Ibiza Burlesque Festival and the Burlesque Exchange Network are intentionally curated spaces.
We exist to support artists, creatives, and supporters in a culture of respect, encouragement, and integrity.

We ask all members to engage thoughtfully, professionally, and with care for one another. Harassment, defamation, or negative campaigning are not aligned with our values.

What We Stand For

At World Burlesque Day and World Burlesque Academy, we celebrate creativity, self-expression, body positivity, and empowerment. We believe that burlesque is an inclusive art form where everyone—regardless of gender, race, age, body type, sexuality, or background—deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Our community thrives on kindness, collaboration, and authenticity. We will not tolerate bullying, harassment, discrimination, or online abuse in any form.

Anti-Bullying Commitment

1. Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, or intimidation—in person, in classrooms, backstage, or online.
2. Definition: Bullying includes but is not limited to: derogatory remarks, name-calling, exclusion, online defamation, rumor spreading, abuse of power dynamics, and mocking of appearance or artistic choices.
3. Accountability: Anyone found to engage in bullying may be removed from our platforms, classes, or events. We reserve the right to take appropriate disciplinary or legal action when necessary.

Social Media Policy

1. Positive Representation: All affiliated members, performers, and students are expected to uphold our values when posting online.
2. Respect and Privacy: Do not share personal information, backstage photos, or private conversations without consent.
3. Constructive Criticism: We encourage thoughtful dialogue—not public shaming. Concerns or disputes should be brought privately to administrators. We can all learn and help each other when it comes from a good heart and intention.
4. Responding to Online Negativity: Our official response to harassment or smear campaigns will focus on truth, transparency, and community support—never retaliation.
